Designing The Young Jedi’s Room

The force is strong with this one.

He’s four. And he’s in possession of  three lightsabers, 27 action figures, one stormtrooper costume, one Darth Vader mask, a plate/bowl set, a R2-D2 T-shirt, the full DVD box set, one vintage poster… Oh, and his new “Empire Strikes Back” sheets just arrived, which I’m hiding until Christmas.

Not that I’m blaming anyone, but he gets it all from his father’s side. I admit though, I do try to encourage the lighter side of the force without turning him into this poor child.

That said, let’s talk bedroom decor. You may have guessed that I fell for Pottery Barn Kids recent 10% off promotion on PB Star Wars bedding. (Which barely covered shipping, so who’s the sucker now?) But I stopped at the sheet set, because no matter how cool my husband thought it was, I couldn’t justify spending more to outfit my son’s little bed than we did on our own king-size linens. C’mon.

It was agreed then that we’ll keep his current green quilt and accessorize the room with two or three prints. After a little digging, I found these great links for really cool, unique and – thank the Sith Lord! – inexpensive art for a young Jedi’s room.

Jedi moms – the new soccer moms? Thanks for the tip on the Ts! We found a great Superman shirt there a couple weeks ago too.
